can i get 40mm--42 mm offset? or do i need 45-50 mm?
what tire size?

For the final time:
If you have a 7" width wheel, diameter does not matter, and it has a +42 mm offset, minimum, you will need to run a 205/45/17.
The 205/40/17 is too short of a tire and will result in additional mileage on the odometer.
If it's 7" and has a +44 or +45 and higher, you can run the ideal tire size of 215/40/17.
Now if you have a 7.5" wheel, you can run a 215/40 if it is a +48 or higher. If not, then you'll need to use a 205/45.
That's all folks.
